A state-of-the-art attraction on the Queen’s Road opposite the Titanic Hotel, a short distance from the world’s number one visitor attraction, Titanic Belfast.
Once open the Aquarium will be the largest Ocean visitor attraction on the island of Ireland. We expect to welcome more than 300,000 people each year and help boost the length of each tourist visit to Northern Ireland.
The purpose of this website is to update you on these proposals, and seek your views on our vision for the reefLIVE Aquarium.
The reefLIVE Belfast Aquarium will respond to the increase in public interest in marine life, and the environmental issues facing species and habitats off the shores of Britain and Ireland, and around the world.
We aim to wow visitors with a fresh approach to aquaria by using high quality live displays and build techniques to recreate international marine environments - coupled with cutting edge technology to create an immersive visitor experience.
reefLIVE aims to inspire and educate visitors about the marine environment and how it can and should be properly managed and conserved.
Subject to planning consent, construction will begin during 2020 and we hope to open to the public in Spring 2021.
A public information drop-in event was held in the Titanic Hotel on Tuesday 20th August 2019. If you were unable to attend you can view the consultation banners that were on display here.
